2022 Fisker Ocean
The tide is turning for electric vehicles as more and more new models flood the market, and Fisker Automotive looks to capitalize on that sentiment with its aptly named Ocean SUV. While it's still a couple of years awayâ€”or potentially more based on the company's history of broken promisesâ€”the Ocean has a low starting price ($37,499) and long driving range (up to 300 miles). It also could benefit from the brand's partnership with Electrify America, which might include some complimentary charging for customers. With a design similar to the handsome Range Rover Evoque, the 2022 Fisker Ocean could prove a compelling entry among the burgeoning EV SUV segment.
Engine, Transmission, and Performance
The 2022 Ocean will be solely powered by electricity, offer two or all-wheel drive, and the quickest version is said to accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds. That's pretty much all we know for sure about the powertrain of Fisker's forthcoming SUV. It also has been said that the Ocean will have a battery pack of at least 80.0 kWh.
Range, Charging, and Battery Life
The upcoming Ocean is expected to have a range between 250 and 300 miles, which is more than the Audi e-tron or Jaguar I-Pace. However, it costs considerably less than either of those luxurious all-electric crossovers. The Ocean will be compatible with most EV charging stations, and Fisker has partnered with Electrify America to provide owners with an unspecified amount of complimentary charging.

Inside, the Ocean has a straightforward layout that's offset by some simple controls. Along with a large touchscreen, the Fisker's dashboard incorporates a digital gauge cluster, a head-up display, and a white faux-suede material that spans across it. However, the amount of high-end standard amenities are expected to be limited since the Ocean is marketed as an affordable EV. We only hope its back seat and cargo area are more useful than those in the company's ill-fated sedan.
